Jordan Humanitarian, Inclusion and Protection portfolio review

This review of the Jordan Humanitarian, Inclusion and Protection (HIP) portfolio found that International Climate Finance (ICF) allocations for humanitarian programmes is currently unclear on issues relating to refugee populations and displaced peoples. Climate impacts in Jordan are disproportionately felt by vulnerable groups, particularly refugees and displaced peoples. Work delivered identified opportunities to mainstream climate considerations into the programme, and highlighted evidence-based opportunities for ICF spend and results.

Ocean Country Partnership Programme GEDSI Analysis: Senegal

This report sets out the findings from a gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) analysis, focused on biodiversity, sustainable seafood and pollution in coastal areas of Senegal. The findings will be used to inform the Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP) on the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalised groups in the locations where the programme is implemented. This research has been conducted over a period of two months and involved both primary and secondary qualitative research.

WOW Helpdesk Guidance Note No. 3 - Women’s Economic Empowerment and Climate Change: A Primer

International Climate Finance and Gender Equality: A Portfolio Review for British High Commission Tanzania

British High Commission Dar Es Salaam (BHC DSM) is looking to scale up programming on climate change whilst incorporating the empowerment of women and girls. This query is a selected portfolio review of four existing BHC DSM programmes which include, or are intended to include, an International Climate Finance (ICF) component to identify entry points for gender equality. It used an in-depth document review of four BHC DSM programmes and interviews with each programme team. For one programme, the implementor provided some written responses.

Scoping nature programming in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda

Addressing the climate, environment, and biodiversity crises in and through girls’ education: FCDO Internal Guidance Package

FCDO’s Position Paper sets out the case for taking a more integrated approach to tackling education and climate and environmental change. It identifies a two-way relationship whereby climate and environmental change disrupt education access and systems, but quality education, especially for girls, leads to better climate resilience, adaptation, and mitigation. The paper argues that without making education systems resilient to climate and environmental change, we will not achieve education goals.
