The Public Safety Net Programme (PSNP) is a key component of the Ethiopian Government’s Food Security Programme, an essential feature of the country’s food security investment strategy for chronically food-insecure woredas. The development objective of the PSNP 5 is to contribute to reducing household vulnerability and improving resilience to shocks. Since its inception, the PSNP has passed through four phases, entering its fifth phase in mid-2021.1 The phases have been designed for the gradual expansion of the programme’s activities.

This report presents a GEDSI analysis for the OCPP in Madagascar’s marine biodiversity sector. It is part of a broader the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) initiative to better integrate GEDSI considerations into its work. CEFAS commissioned Social Development Direct (SDDirect) to conduct thematic analyses supporting GEDSI-responsive approaches. This research provides an intersectional assessment of the social and economic context and identifies key sexual exploitation, abuse, and sexual harassment risks and GEDSI aspects that can be addressed and mitigated.

Scoping review of the effectiveness of nature-based interventions on poverty, the climate and nature
It is critical to build a high-quality evidence base to support the efficacy of investments in nature-based interventions. The review aims to address three key questions: 1. What evidence exists on the effectiveness and trade-offs of a selected subset of nature-based interventions – for poverty alleviation, climate change mitigation and adaptation, nature and its biodiversity conservation, sustainable management or restoration, and cost? 2. Where are the evidence gaps? 3. What, broadly, does the evidence conclude?
